Christantus Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season were outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

In spite of torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple tap-in.
Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the official waved away the appeals.
Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had hit the post.
Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.
Yeremy Pino Wraps Up the Game
The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
